Been busy with my studies lately and have no time to blog. I have been using my previously archived blog posts to stand in for a while and I realised they were used up!!!!

So, pardon me if I do not post for weeks.

Complaint Chior

It all got started during a winter day walk of Tellervo Kalleinen and Oliver Kochta-Kalleinen in Helsinki. Perhaps it was due to the coldness of the day that they ended up discussing the possibility of transforming the huge energy people put into complaining into something else. Perhaps not directly into heat – but into something powerful anyway.

In the Finnish vocabulary there is an expression "Valituskuoro". It means "Complaints Choir" and it is used to describe situations where a lot of people are complaining simultaneously. Kalleinen and Kochta-Kalleinen thought: "Wouldn´t it be fantastic to take this expression literally and organise a real Complaints Choir!"

As complaining is a universal phenomenon the project could be organised in any city around the world. Kalleinen and Kochta-Kalleinen offered the concept to different events where they were invited as artists – but it was only after Springhill Institute in Birmingham got excited about the idea that the First Complaints Choir became a reality.

New Framework for Nomination of Insurance Nominees

No Comment - Post a comment

Buyers of life assurance, accident or health policies can nominate their beneficiaries under the Insurance Nomination law that took effect this month.

The law finally clears up ambiguities relating to beneficiary nominations under previous legislation.

Under the new framework, policy-holders have two options in terms of nominating beneficiaries.

One is a trust nomination, through which a policy-holder has to give up all rights to the policy. Such rights can be regained only with the consent of all nominees.

The second option is a revocable nomination, in which a policy-holder retains the ability to unilaterally change, add or remove nominees.

The day began with our favorite Kwap Chap near my house.

Excited Bella reaching the surprised trip to Science Centre!

It was Snow City first. Short and Stout Bella.

Then it was Science Center!

Left: Taking a poo in the public
Right: Relaxing on the bed

Upon reaching 6pm, both of us were famine due to the walking and playing. Decided to head to the nearest food outlet which happens to be the junk food restaurant, McDonalds. After some satisfying but fattening dinner, we catch the direct bus 97 from Jurong East to Marina Square. Needless to say, both of us were dozing off for the whole journey.

Went for some shopping before settling down for Bella's favorite Chocolate Milkshake at Billy Bomber. We ended the day with the movie "The Final Destination" (When exactly is the last? This is the 4th sequel already!). Movie was alright, albeit too short.
