We are back!

No Comment - Post a comment

Something pondered upon me while I was plucking hair one fine night. If given a Manchester or Liverpool jersey for free, will I wear it? I thought it through with sense and rationality (I'm not a irrational fan!) before concluding I would look awful in them. Just imagine me......wearing a Manchester United jersey. Yuks!!

Cut me and I bleed black and white and I would pay to have a Newcastle jersey rather than receiving Liverpool, Manchester, Chelsea, Arsenal jerseys etc for free! Yes I am irrational after all but then, which die hard fan isn't?

Illustration of irrationality
Case 1: Newcastle lost the match due to controversial referee decision.
Newcastle Fan: Damn, we could have won the match if not for poor refereeing, UNFAIR!

Case 2: Newcastle won the match due to controversial referee decision.
Newcastle Fan: Well, this is football, you gain some you lose some, its fair. (i.e. We won the match and we don't care how we win it as long as we win)

Long Weekends!

2 comments - Post a comment

Long weekends... are finally over :(

Other than the routine soccer matches every Sunday, its been a extraordinary pasta cooking weekends. Other than the inaugural attempt at Garlic Prawn Pasta on Friday, I tried another new dish I saw on the web; the Creamy Mushrooom Pasta. And on Sunday night, I went over to Bella house for dinner. Its been eons years ago since I last had dinner and stay over at her house.

1) 3 attempts at the White Wine Creamy Mushroom Pasta.

First Attempt

Forgot to put salt, pepper and cheese. Added too much chicken stock; covering both the white wine and cream taste.

The $20 white wine at NTUC

Prawn and mushroom are not a good match here.

It still taste ok though.

Second Attempt

Added too much wine and chicken stock (again); resulted in watery strong wine taste.

Third Attempt

Finally got the mixture right. But was left with too much cream; hence not much sauce left. Nevertheless, the spaghetti was boiled in salty water which give it the extra taste. Will get better in the next attempt!

The set lunch prepared for Bella.

Set Lunches for sister and her friend.

2) Soccer

Team FATA finally got their win after several consecutive defeats. This match also marked the end of our 2008 season due to rainy season and players' exams. Good luck for your paper guys! We have also strengthened our team with the addition of 3 players.

3) Bella House

As usual, the dinner at Bella's house was superb, I downed 3 bowls of rice. There was the super nice duck meat with crispy skin, mixed vegetable with mushroom, fried fish, "gor hiong", and nice tasty soup. If only I got 2 stomach wahhaa. After dinner, its time for the super Sunday match between Chelsea and Liverpool. Despite the sucky singnet, we still managed to catch most of the action.

4) Food from new stall

$1.50 chicken rice is seen selling at a new stall below my house. We decided to try it out for brunch today.

Other than the chicken rice, the rest is not up to normal standard.

Thats all for now. Hope you guys enjoyed your weekends too!

Been getting blood cot whenever I play soccer. Not sure if its due to socks or boots. Gonna do some "troubleshooting"...

Anyone encountered before too?

Random rants

Just did a 30min jog today and was force to retire early due to the old injury acting upon my left knee sigh. Looks like its inevitable that I need to make another visit to the "Tie Da" clinic soon. Hopefully the problem would not surface for this Sunday's match *finger and leg crossed*

Newcastle United in a turmoil!

STEVEN TAYLOR is ready to join a mass exodus from Newcastle — even though he recently signed a new deal.

The England Under-21 defender is one of 11 players who want to quit the crisis club in January over the treatment of former boss Kevin Keegan.

Michael Owen, Alan Smith and Joey Barton plan to go after the club tried to sell them on transfer deadline day.

Shay Given, Nicky Butt, Damien Duff and Mark Viduka want out.

And Oba Martins, Charles N’Zogbia and Shola Ameobi are also looking for the exit.

A Toon source said: “People think there are problems at Newcastle but they don’t know the half of it. At least 11 players have indicated they are ready to leave.”

Owner Mike Ashley is trying to flog the club, they have no boss and are second bottom of the Premier League.
Source.

Trust me, I wouldn't be surprised if he was threatened or even get murdered out of a sudden. How can someone just come into the club and ruined it single-handedly? He needs to understand that hes the cause of all these and if he were a little guilty, he would have just sell off the club even at a slight loss. But no, hes holding on to the club in hope that he could profit from it maybe 1.5 times more than his capital invested!

Its really fuming, who knows if Newcastle might just be liquidated. :(

Right knee getting better

No Comment - Post a comment

After applying Chinese medicine and restricting myself from exercising diligently for 2 weeks, I can feel my right knee is responding well to the treatment. Had a 45min soccer last week and the pain did not surface at any moment during or after the game. hooray!

Anyway had a nice drinking night with "F4+2+another one" on Saturday. Few vomits, few lie down flat, some behaving crazily. An inaugural "drink till collapse" night with the peeps, definitely one to remember. Shall update on it soon. Video included!

Oh I gonna resume my weekly jogging routine real soon ... I know I have to do it because my Sister told me this today "You got a tummy liao!!!" argh
