As mentioned in my previous post, I booked a surprise package at Kranji Farm Resort to celebrate Christmas with little Bella.

After our nasi lemak breakfast, we took a walk around the farm.

Of course, just when everything was looking to end (imagine Bella's sad face), I whipped out another surprise when we reached Bishan. I took her to watch "Bodyguards & Assassins" that I made the reservation of the tickets few days ago. Not a bad show but if you are watching because of Donnie Yen, you would be disappointed.

After the nice history movie, Bella thought everything ended. And yes it did. :)

So, how did you spend your Christmas eve? Heres mine.

Woke up at 11am and waited till 4pm literally. Reason? Waiting for the sun to come out so that I can go swimming and sun-tanning. But the stubborn sun was just not intending to appear on a chill Christmas eve.

Bella came over in the evening to "deposit" her bag at my house so that we can go out straight away tomorrow morning. Venue? Kranji Farm Resort! Shall post the photos after the trip. And then off she goes again to meet up with Xiao Wan and Lifang for Christmas buffet dinner at Swiss Hotel. ($98++ per nose)

At around 8.30pm, I went for a 30min jog before meeting my Mystery MSN friend for another 15min jog. We settled our dinner at the nearby zhi char. By the time we finished it was around 10.30pm. We ended our Christmas eve with some snack bought from the Pasar Marlem below my house.

And thats the end of my gay Christmas eve gathering. Stay tuned for our trip to Kranji Farm Resort!

Happy New Year 2009!

After googling few minutes for 2009 New Year greetings to no avail, I decided to make my unique customised greetings "card" for my supportive and loyal readers here at Diversifying Ruined simply because you guys are worth my effort and sweat put in for this creation.

Exactly a year ago, something interesting happened at my blog. If you could recall, it proves something. You have good memory (duh). Well, if you couldn't, make use of the search function at the top right hand corner of my blog to find out or you can also click the archives. (Do it now before proceeding!)

Interesting isn't it? :>

Now, before you continue reading, perhaps you can just take a few minutes to enjoy this New Year song.

Don't like it? How about this? :)

Anyway, another year has passed and its time to do our resolutions. Well, Bella asked me my resolution for this upcoming year and I told her that ever since I entered UOL, my resolutions has been set for the next 3 years; hoping to graduate with a First Class and a CFA Level 1. I could not say whether I am on track for it since I have not yet finished my first semester/year. But I am still doing "ok", just keeping up with weekly revisions on the topics covered but not yet into turbo mode. As for CFA, I will be registering for the Level 1 examinations in Dec during early July perhaps, anyone joining me?

Of course other than studies aside, I have to leave some wardrobe space for other intangible things for resolution as well right? I would want to treat Bella better, cook nicer pasta for her, find more good and cheap food etc (Yeah all about food for her, thats why I dedicated a post for her weeks ago).

Then, for me Team FATA, hopefully we can make it a norm to have a match every Sunday without fail and maybe once a month at East Coast Futsal for enjoyment. To better bond them together, few of us have decided to arrange for a team chalet cum BBQ tomorrow. Hope it turns out well.

Next, IPPT window is opening soon, still deciding whether I should take it this year or next year before the window close (to take advantage of training once for 2 IPPTs, you know the strategy of taking 1 before your window close and 1 after your window open within a timespan of maybe 1 month). In this case, we would be effectly taking 2 IPPTs every 2 years instead of taking 1 IPPT every year (it makes a difference, in the training required that is).

Take care and prosper!

Christmas 2008

One of the most important festive season for Bella is Christmas. On Christmas eve Tuesday, her company gave a half day off and hence she would be able to leave at noon. I met her at her workplace before bringing her for lunch to one of her most anticipated visit to Marriott Cafe at Marriott Hotel at Orchard Road (ok that was bad English).

It was only until we sit down at the Cafe then we know the Buffet lunch for that day was a whopping $90+ per head. Nevertheless, knowing that "Consumption" was a vital component of the country's GDP, coupled with the recent down mood for Bella, I still felt it was money well spent.

The seafood... taste ordinary

I think my photography skills for taking macro shots of food seems to be improving huh? Hows my photos for the oyster and dessert shots?

Probably one of the most anticipated food among Marriott's buffet is their dessert corner

During our course of meals, Bella and I went to the washroom once (for obvious reason). We decided against going only after the buffet as the food would be wasted by then (typical Singaporeans thinking.. kiasu!! haha).

Overall, the food of course doesn't justify the price being paid! (For $200, we could have eaten 2 or 3 big Sri Lanka crab!) But like I said many times to Bella before, we wouldn't know until we try. Actually for the price of $40, I still think its not worth it cause the only food that interest me are the oyster and salmon which just taste normal.

After our brunch, we headed to Far East Plaza for some window shopping before heading home for rest and dinner.

After a good nap with air-con and outside raining, I prepared our favorite Garlic Prawn Pasta (again). This time round there was a surprise entry of a Champagne!
