Post-Exams Day 7

No Comment - Post a comment

Had a great night with my poly friends with dinner at Chomp Chomp followed by some drinking session at Liquid Kitchen. And when this group of friends gather, what other thing better to do than gambling? albeit not with money this time round. This is the group when together, we play mahjong, poker cards especially texas holdem, dices etc to the extend of buying mahjong table, poker chips. Only thing left is probably visiting the casino as we figured out instead of money going towards the evil corporate, wouldn't it be better if the money is rotated among ourselves?

Don't be mistaken, we are a bunch of beer guys. Just once in a blue moon, we tried wine (I believe it was our first wine bottle together). And thanks to Jits for sending everyone of us back and poor him have to drink full glass of water instead of alcohol for punishment when playing games.

P.S My previous post was left intentionally blank because it was what it was....blank for the whole day.

Break

I am so going to take a break today.

Going to Serangoon Gardens to eat Kway Chap with Bella. Shes into Kway Chap lately. And no, before this was another food, and before that food was another food. Namely, her taste for food never stop, just keep changing from one to another. rahhh

After brunch, we are going to find a mouse for her notebook and photo frame. Perhaps we should wait till Sitex 09 where she will be buying a new notebook to replace her 5 years Fujitsu. Can bargain for a mouse.

Its been more than 2 months where we last dine out together for dinner. Gonna bring her go Junction 8 for a nice pasta dinner. She missed my pasta!

Its also been more than 2 months where I last bring her to a movie. And tonight just coincidentally, a new Hong Kong show came out and also coincidentally, the show is about the new game I taught her this year. Texas Holdem! The show is Poker King.

My poly friends, who siao about Texas last time, might be interested too! Right? Gavin? Jit? This gang of friends of mine turned from Pool siao, to Texas Holdem siao and now to Tennis siao. They bought cue stick, bought poker chips and now bought tennis racket. Really is play hard.

I have not told her of the dinner and movie yet. All these surprises mean a lot to her and to me. Not only it perks up our dull relationship in months (due to my busyness), it also excite me because I love to see her surprised and happy reaction =D

DCNT Gathering

Thanks to Jun Jie, we had our DCNT (Diploma in Computer & Network Technology) gathering after 2 years of army. Kudos for the hard work in organising and planning, and ya we know its tough.

We met up 7pm at Clarke Quay MRT and proceeded to Tiffany Coffee House @ Furama Hotel. Unfortunately, the food was not great and failed miserably to justify for its price. Only the Cold Prawn and Pheonix Roll are nice. Nevertheless, we still had a nice time catching up with each other, the never ending jokes and the ever "laughing out loud" jits.

After the dinner, Amanda had to go off early while the rest of us went down to Clarke Quay for some drinking session. We were deciding which pub to go before stopping by outside The Arena. The striking bright red sign attracted us from far and Cindy recommended it.

We opened 2 Martell with 3 mixer, cost us $350. After first round of drinking, Cindy and Shi Hui were off. The rest of us play some drinking games before going down to the limited space dancing floor yet it was so empty. After half an hour to forty-five minutes, we were tired and went back to our place and ordered 1 jug of Tiger. Minutes later, there was an announcement saying that its 1 for 1 for tiger -_-.

We left the place at about 3am soberly, no one was drunk or even the slightest giddy. We did not drink much anyway.
P.S Sorry for the late post, this event took place around 2 weeks ago. :)

Happy New Year 2008!

It was a last minute gathering. To be precise, the gathering was discussed and organised the night before around 11pm where Jits called for an 'O' group meeting in MSN. All the members from the DCNT were gathered and conform to the suggestion initiated by Jits. Time and venue were set at 6.30pm at Happy Pot Steamboat aka "Tian Tian Huo Guo".

D-Day has arrived. I reached the RV at 6.15pm. Thinking that I was late, I fastened my pace in order not to miss the TTR timing. However, upon reaching the RV, I could not find any of them. I sent an SMS signal to Jits and found out that they were still on the way.

Can you see what I am eating?

This almost looks like a natural panorama!

We arrived at Happy Pot Steamboat and requested to sit inside. A quick scan at the food, it was bad. Luckily, there was a list of ala carte "premium" food which we need to order but its freeflow. On the list there were the Tiger Prawn, Pork, Beef, Lamp, Beancurd, Pig Liver and Kidney. I thought that Pig's Organs are not well accepted but what a surprise I got. Jits, JJ, Desmond and Gavin kept downing them! I was they were gross! yuks

I was not really hungry as my brunch is still occupying much of the space in my stomach. In addition, the food was not very appealing other than the Pork and Tiger Prawn. Hence, I only attack both of them and the Ma La Soup. The soup was superb and I drank non-stop from beginning till the end. Thumbs up!

We agreed that playing with food is bad.

But we further agreed that this little Tou Fu would need some hair.

We left around 9.30pm heading towards Shaw Tower. There was only 3 movies on show. We slack around before decided to go Suntec Eng Wah. They wanted to catch some movie as it was still early while I was waiting for my sick and poor Wendy as she wanted to watch the fireworks at Esplanade.

Unfortunately, there was only the first row seats for AVP2 at Eng Wah. Not giving up, we went to Marina Square. Halfway through, my sick Li Ling has arrived and I have to leave them. Jits told me that they watched I am Legend and previously I have told them timeless counts that its not worth it. Seeing is believing, they agreed on my comments after watching the show. TOLD YA GUYS!

There was incredibly lots of people while I tried to maneuver my way to City Hall MRT. I finally saw my sick Wendy standing in the middle of the crowd. Knowing that Marina Square through to Esplanade was packed with people, we took another route to Esplanade (via The Aldephi). We finally chose a spot where we could have a view of the entire fireworks only to realise there was a stupid sign blocking 1/5 of it.

I wonder what is Li Ling smelling?

The stupid sign

Check out the short video clip I took.

This is Taiwan's Taipei 101 2008 Fireworks. I know what you are thinking.
